A US shop for your winery
Adval is a combined importer and direct-to-consumer retailer for European wineries without current importation into the United States, so customers in the United States can buy their wine.
The shop uses your winery's name. You set the bottle price. The customer pays on the shop in US dollars.
Adval runs the shop, the payment, the import, and the delivery. The wine stays at your winery until a customer orders it. We group the bottles and ship them to the United States. The person who receives the wine must be 21 or older and must sign for it.
The bottle price includes duty, excise, and sea freight. Those costs are part of the price you set. Adval does not take them out of your payment as a separate charge. US sales tax is not in the bottle price. Adval does not collect it yet. The customer pays a shipping fee on top of the wine price. When a customer pays, Adval keeps 15% of the wine price. You receive the other 85% of the wine price. Adval keeps the shipping fee and pays the carriers.
Customers pay in US dollars. Stripe, a major payments company, pays your bank in euros. Stripe sets the exchange rate and its own fee. That fee is not part of the commission.
The shops on this site are templates. They show what a shop will look like. You cannot place an order. Adval does not hold US state alcohol licences yet. Adval does not have a US warehouse yet. No paid order ships until both are in place.
We need wineries to sign up before we can launch.
We cannot launch until wineries join. It costs nothing to sign up. The first wineries help us find problems and fix them before any customer orders.
The first wineries
You use the shop with us. You tell us what is unclear or broken. We fix it before we open to customers.
It costs nothing to apply. It costs nothing to open the shop.
We set up the shop with you. Your name stays on it. You set the bottle price.
You use the shop before any customer does.
There is no fee before a customer pays. Then Adval keeps 15% of the wine price.
The law that allows this later
The District of Columbia's local government changed its law. A brand that is not already sold in the United States can sell wine and beer directly to the customer. Adval cannot sell that way until it holds the licences.
After wineries join
After wineries sign up, Adval gets the US state alcohol licences and the US warehouse. We do not launch shipping until the wineries are set up and both of those are in place.
How an order moves
1. The customer pays
The customer orders on your shop and pays in US dollars.
2. Adval groups the bottles
Small orders wait and ship with other orders. Larger orders ship together from your winery.
3. The customer signs
The wine travels to the United States. An adult signs for it.
Template shops
Each shop belongs to one winery. The shops below are templates. You cannot place an order. They use different layouts. Two more layouts exist and are not on this page.
Order lookup
When paid orders are open, a customer can ask for a tracking link by email. Paid orders are not open, so this lookup is not open.
